A DEDICATION TO THOSE WHO SERVE

Please take a few moments to reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made by Law Enforcement Officers in the United States of America since 1791......September 11, 2011 will be the 10th Anniversary of the tragedy America experienced at the World Trade Center Towers of New York City, at The Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and in rural Pennsylvania.....The loss of 3,000 innocent lives strikes at our hearts.....The additional loss of hundreds of Firefighters, Police Officers, and Paramedics in New York City gives a special meaning to the term “ultimate sacrifice” by our true American heroes....These men and women are in my thoughts and prayers every day.

As an American citizen, a patriot, a former United States Marine, and as an experienced police officer, I would also dedicate this website to ALL of the men and women who have served America since the French and Indian War to the present day......Many have served in multiple conflicts; many gave their last full measure of devotion and service....I would like to recognize two young Marines; Wayne Issacs and Freddy Parker.......May they rest in peace as I see their faces after 40 years....One other person who is special in my heart; my brother William “Wild Bill” Barksdale.......He went out on “one mission too many.”......Bill loved life, served as a U.S.Marine and in Public Safety, and  saved numerous lives as a Paramedic. Bill loved animals and was active in the “rescuing” of many, many animals! “Semper Fi”, my brother; I know you are with our Mother and Father in Heaven watching over us!..... Finally, to my sister Carla Bailey Martinez, who has been a school teacher, a mentor, and lover of animals, and volunteer. Carla has been instrumental in encouraging me with this website project. Thank you Carla!

There are several other Americans I admire for their part in preserving American History, and keeping its special moments alive. A special “thank-you” goes out to Stephen E. Ambrose, Tom Hanks, Don Troiani, Lt. Gen. “Chesty” Puller, James Dietz, Mort Kunstler, and to David Bell....The above listed individuals are truely “A Band of Brothers!”
